Office 365 is better than ever—and the customers are reaping the benefits. Microsoft recently launched three new Office 365 plans for small and medium-sized businesses as well as Office 365 E5, the new premium plan that gives enterprise customers access to a wide range of new features and capabilities. Among the recent improvements are a number of new Office 365 communications services such as PSTN Conferencing and Cloud PBX, designed to modernize voice, video and meeting experiences, while saving companies substantial costs in their communication infrastructure. In addition, Microsoft has also added several new security and data analytics capabilities to Office 365, including Delve Analytics, Power BI and Advanced eDiscovery. For Office 365, the security and privacy of customer data remains the top priority. As part of that ongoing commitment, Microsoft had asked independent third-party auditors to test and assess Office 365 against the ISO 27001 and ISO 27018 standards. These standards were established by the International Standardization Organization, an independent non-governmental international organization that develops standards intended to support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges. Office 365 is one of the first major cloud services to be assessed against these standards, which provide assurance that Office 365 has controls to help protect personally identifiable information and includes an information security management system and an in-depth information security risk management program. Microsoft recently announced the Preview for archiving third-party data in Office 365, which is now available to all commercial customers worldwide. This will help organizations ensure that all their data is stored and protected in accordance with compliance standards. Another new feature of Office 365 is the extended and enhanced First Release, the program that lets customers opt in to receive updates earlier than the Standard Release.
