Ve středu 20. února 2019 proběhla na našem gymnáziu soutěž ve vaření s názvem „The Great American Bake Off“. Pozvání přijaly týmy ze tří porubských základních škol (ZŠ Ivana Sekaniny, Základní škola a waldorfská základní škola a ZŠ Komenského), které doplnila družstva ze tříd 1. E a 2. E. Hlavní garantkou akce byla naše americká asistentka Marissa Levin Shapiro, která účastníky na úvod seznámila se zajímavými fakty o americké kuchyni, a aby navodila kulinářskou atmosféru a zároveň aby studenty za jejich snahu posléze odměnila, přichystala jim vynikající americký dezert, tzv. „Dirt Pudding“.
